Songs from the Mirror

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Songs from the Mirror is the third solo album by singer Fish.

Following his second solo album Internal Exile, Fish released a covers album named Songs from the Mirror, his final album for the record label Polydor. He dedicated the album to his favourite teenage artists, among them Pink Floyd, Genesis, David Bowie, and The Moody Blues.

The album was rejected commercially and by the majority of fans, with many believing it would have been better as a fan club release rather than a full studio album. However, many of the tracks were well-received live and are found on some of Fish's official 'bootlegs'.

Fish deliberately decided to not use Mark Wilkinson to design the record cover, as he didn't want to give the impression it was an album written by Fish. Instead, he chose the "The Guddler" by Keith McIntyre as the cover.

The tour included the infamous 'nets' which separate the band from Fish. Some found this somewhat egotistical while others saw that it allowed Fish to interact with the audience and highten the sense of atmosphere. However after morale began to fall in the band Fish finally decided to get rid of the nets and resumed with his normal stage set up.
