Songpull

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Songpull is a grassroots project based in original music and is about bringing people together through their love of music. Whether you are a first time songwriter or have enjoyed writing as long as you can remember, fun is the goal. It’s enjoying the camaraderie and the real vibes of original music being performed for the first time. It’s gaining insight into a performer and their performance through fun and interesting interviews. The people who participate and the people who attend the songpull are what make it authentic, exciting, and challenging. We think that by helping people like you start their own group of songpullers we can help people share a life experience they might not have otherwise had – and maybe write some really great songs in the process!

Songpull is based off of the old ‘guitar pulls’ of American music history. At guitar pulls artists like Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan and Waylon Jennings would get together and write songs and “pull” the guitar from one another for their turn to sing. But with Songpull, you don’t have to be a music legend, you just have to be inspired and willing to write your own music.

Come into the site and look around. There are already several Songpull’s live and many more on the way. We know there are a lot of things still a work in progress, but hopefully that will help you see what we’re up to and the types of things you can expect from [songpull.com] in the near future.
