Song writing
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A style of musical composition, song writing is the process of creating a short piece of music usually involving lyrics (called a song). Methods used in song writing range from experimentation and improvisation to reliance on established classical structures (see Johannes Brahms or Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart).
Though often seen as the job of the band leader (often the singer), or the band as a group, a lot of modern pop songs have been actually written by professional song writers, that make a living by creating songs for interpreting artists. Inspiration usually comes from famous incidents or events that the song writer has gone through.
Songs can be written in many ways. Song writers will often compose songs starting with riffs, melodies, or chord progressions. Some songs even leave room for improvisation during live performance or recording.
