Firestorm: Songs of the Third World War

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Firestorm: Songs of the Third World War is an album of songs composed by Leslie Fish, on the subject of the Third World War and survival. It is one of the most influential and controversial albums in the filk subgemre.

Some of the songs, such as "Black Powder and Alcohol," and "Eyes of Eagles," provide information on how to do things that would be in demand in a post-apocalyptic environment---in these cases, making gunpowder and penicillin, and grinding lenses out of glass. Many of the other tracks reflect Fish's anarchist political philosophy (most notably "No High Ground" and "Rhododendron Honey").

Heather Alexander contributed vocals on the track "Better Than Who?".

At this time, the album is out of print; it only ever came out on cassette, and it is not known whether, or when, it will reappear on CD.
