[edit] Vista Page Edits
This message is regarding your edits to the Windows Vista talk page. Please do not delete other user's comments. It might have been an accident, but your edits were reverted, and your comment was included at the end of the merge discussion. Thank you. — Alex 04:28, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry about the Vista page...I'm new to Wikipedia, and I thought you add them at the top...sorry about that. Also, I don't remember deleting anybody's comments, but if I did, I'm completely sorry. Also, was I allowed to delete the message that you put on my User Talk page? - somody 22:01, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
- It's up to you what you do with your user talk page. I prefer to archive the messages, just like any other talk page. Feel free to ask if you need help. — Alex 22:24, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Help
Now that you mention it, I would like to know how to add information to the infobox on my user page...it only has the field names in 3 braces (eg. "{{{name}}}").--somody 22:26, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
- What you do is put the attributes in braces in your include template. Example: {{User infobox|name = Your name here|otherbracketproperty = something else}} and so on with every other parameter in three braces. Hope this makes sense. — Alex 22:34, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
- That worked perfectly...thanks. How do I get rid of the headings that I'm not using? Is there documentation on this on Wikipedia? Sorry to bug you so much. - somody 22:47, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
- It's okay, you can bug me as much as you want. The template has to be designed so that the spaces that are not filled out won't show up. If you are willing to go that far, you can go and modify the template. But there is no other way that I know of, all of those fields are required. By the way, you can do this to make the page more easily editable:
{{User infobox
|name = Christian Somody
|gender = Male
|birthdate = December 6th, 1990
|location = Toronto, Canada
|occupation = Student
|religion = Roman Catholic
|politics: = Green Party
|aliases = chrai, somody
|email = somody@gmail.com
|}}

[edit] Hungarian Letters
Excuse me, but I do know Hungarian very well. I do understand that it is very difficult to find an equivalent in the 'English alphabet', but I did my best...please dont swear or anything like that. Correct it and that's all that's necessary! - somody 23:41, 9 January 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry for being a bit rude, but it was you who first wrote that 'the last [edits] were terrible', and I felt that it's a bit unfair remark from you as /in my opinion/ they significantly improved the quality of the article.
- I didn't say that your Hungarian is bad (it's almost certainly better than my English), but I felt that using English "romanization" instead of IPA transcription was not a very good idea at all. (At least one must explicitly state that it's just the closest availible approximation.)
- What I forgot to write about yesterday, that there is something annoying about the 'Example' section of all of your "letter articles": They all start with this sentence 'These examples are Hungarian words that use the letter [letter], with the English pronounciation with letter romanization following.', but you've only given the pronunciation of 'csak' (chawk), and in all other cases you've translated the word in question. I think you should either correct these "first sentences" or correct your examples… Or did I get something wrong?

[edit] Your edits on Stephen Harper
Please stop adding false election results. The polls aren't even closed yet. Exploding Boy 03:34, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, the polls were closed, and they were being counted. CTV reported that it was certain that Stephen Harper was Prime Minister in a Conservative Minority. I live in Toronto, and am involved with politics, so don't be rude. somody 15:23, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Bouvier des Flandres
Hi, sorry but I deleted Bouvier des Flandres from the list of Hungarian animals. I looked up sources and I've found that this dog comes from Belgium (as the name clearly shows). There are people who breed bouvier in Hungary but it is not a specific Hungarian animal. It hasn't got a real Hungarian name only called "Flamand bouvier". Zello 00:31, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
- I'm so sorry...I was doing research and didn't mean to put it there. I was looking at Hungarian dogs and my dad says we're getting a Bouvier, but I didn't think before I edited :(. Sorry!!! somody 17:48, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Pesterzsébet
Szervusz Alensha! I commend you on your fabulous work on your hometown article. Some articles that I find lacking are the districts of Europe, such as Pesterzsébet. Perhaps you could work on those one day. Köszönöm szépen! Viszontlátásra! somody 13:59, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks! :) I'll try to expand those articles, but the Budapest districts are Adam's area of expertise. Anyway, it will be put on my mental to-do list :) Alensha 15:17, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
Sorry but I don't undertake to write articles about topics I'm entirely unfamiliar with. Adam78 21:29, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Your userpage was briefly delisted by a rogue admin
This user believes that only articles need reflect a NPOV, and that displaying political, religious, or other beliefs using userboxes and user categories should not be banned. |
You have a userbox Template:User UN which links your userpage to United Nations Wikipedians. There is currently a movement to ban userboxes from Wikipedia which are shared and which create List of Wikipedians. Certain admins have taken it upon themselves to preemptively sabotage and/or delete such categories and template. Here is the incident report which reported damage to yours, in which hundreds of userpages were delinked from categories without the users' knowledge. They have been stopped, barely, and the damage reverted— for now.
There is a Wikipedia:Userbox policy poll, which if passed, will make required by policy the damage done to categories and templates such as User UN/United Nations Wikipedians. If you do not want this to happen, I urge you to vote Oppose. in the poll. Support is currently running at about 66%, and your vote could make the difference. It is said to require 75%-80% to be deemed reflective of consensus.
Thank you,
