Somwarpet

The town of Somwarpet (sometimes written Somvarpet) is in the district of Kodagu, in Karnataka. It is the main town of the Somwarpet taluka, in the north-east of the district.
The main crop grown in the takuk are coffee and spice crops such as Cardamom, Pepper.
Nearby town is Kushalnagar.
Somwarpet is around 40 km away from Madikeri, the district headquarter and is about 240 km from Bangalore.
The rural villages of Somwarpet taluka are Picturesque. The main tourist trecking attraction in and around Somwarpet is Pushpagiri Hill(the second highest mountain in Kodagu) in the western part of Somwarpet.
