Somewhere Else is a song by the Anglo-Swedish rock group Razorlight. It was their first new material following their debut album Up All Night, and became their biggest hit to date in the UK, reaching #2. The track is primarily acoustic-driven, with a shimmering effect and gradual build-up, with an insistent chorus; "and I just can't help myself, I really really wish I could be somewhere else far from here".
The track did not appear on the original pressings of the band's debut LP, 'Up All Night'. However, after the track's success in the chart, it was added as the final track on the album which was put out as a 'special edition' (although arguably it would have appeared on a special edition regardless of its chart placing). Due to the time of the song's release, and the band's appearances at many festivals and events (including a headlining slot at the Carling Weekend: Reading and Leeds Festivals as well as Live 8 in 2005), it became somewhat of a summer anthem.
