Somerset Lowry-Corry, 2nd Earl Belmore

Somerset Lowry-Corry, 2nd Earl Belmore (July 11, 1774 - April 18, 1841) was an Irish nobleman and statesman and was the only surviving son of Armar Lowry-Corry, 1st Earl Belmore.

He was Member of Parliament for County Tyrone from 1797 to 1802 and was a colonel in the Tyrone Militia. He was elected as a Representative Peer for Ireland in 1819 and held the office of Captain General and Governor in Chief of Jamaica from 1828 to 1832.

He married his cousin Lady Juliana Butler, second daughter of Henry Butler, 2nd Earl of Carrick, on October 20, 1800, and had issue:

The Hon. Henry Thomas Lowry-Corry PC (March 9, 1803 - March 5, 1873), who was Member of Parliament for County Tyrone from 1825 to 1873, and First Lord of the Admiralty. He was married on March 18, 1830 to Lady Harriet Anne Ashley-Cooper (who died March 25, 1868), second daughter of Cropley Ashley-Cooper, 6th Earl of Shaftesbury, and had issue: (i) Armar Henry Lowry-Corry (March 14, 1836 - September 9, 1893)
