Somatic disciplines

Somatic disciplines are often referred to as bodywork, body therapies, hands-on work, body-mind integration, body-mind disciplines, movement therapy, somatic therapy, movement awareness or movement education or somatic education. Somatic disciplines that involve movement as a fundamental part of the learning process are part of the field of somatic movement education and therapy.

    Somatic therapy- enhances movement and sensation, improving function. Generally, it also implies a philosophy of mind and body unity, and some forms utilize a teacher-student rather than a client-practitioner relationship.
