[edit] Meaning

Does "Solomon Molcho" mean king Solomon? Did he choose the name because Solomon is the son of David? --Error 00:05, 3 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Maccabi?

The text says: "On this occasion, Molcho carried a flag with the inscription מכבי (abbreviation for "Who among the mighty is like unto God?")." AFAIK, this sign reads Maccabi. If this is true, I think we should mention it; if not, we need to fix it. ←Humus sapiens ну? 03:57, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

See the article as revised. By the way, the abbreviation works as follows: M-K-B-Y = mi kamokha ba-eilim Tetragrammaton. It would be nice to know exactly why the Jewish Encyclopedia mentions this interpretation in this context. --Hoziron 03:00, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
It seems that a Solomon Molcho flag is actually on display at the Jewish Museum in Prague. --Hoziron 03:05, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
