Talk:Soloflex

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

from VfD:

Another apparently lost/orphaned VfD nom, as the tag was added November 25, but it doesn't seem to have ever been placed on the main VfD page. Procedural/delete--bowflex imitator that gets 20k hits, compared to 350k for bowflex. Niteowlneils 22:51, 26 Nov 2004 (UTC)

This does not appear to be anything beyond an ad for the company, and has been dormant on Cleanup for several months now. {from User:Stellertony} Niteowlneils 22:51, 26 Nov 2004 (UTC)

  • Delete and put up a Requested Articles notice. The company is quite notable in exactly the same way that Bowflex is and for the same reasons. There is no value to this substub, however, and it's an ad. This isn't a matter of desire: a 2 line article that goes to a link is supposed to be deleted. Geogre 03:47, 27 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep now; I added to the article. Please just google for a couple of things before listing this on VfD and then see if it's interesting. Hints (especially for things about companies): XXXX lawsuit / XXX disaster / XXX corruption. As you can see from the article now, calling Soloflex a "bowflex imitator" is quite ironic. • Flowers for Mozzerati; keep. Much more notable than VfD survivor Bowflex in Canada - as far as I saw only Soloflex ads aired here. Samaritan 03:47, 28 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. Notable product. ElBenevolente 00:22, 29 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Strong keep. Notable. [[User:GRider|GRider\talk]] 00:52, 1 Dec 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. Important in late Twentieth Century Pop Culture --Bastique 20:07, 2 Dec 2004 (UTC)

As it is written, this paragraph doesn't make sense: "Soloflex machines use an elastic element to provide resistance which means that force increases further into the exercise. This has been considered to be a disadvantage by serious weight trainers who have stated that it reduces the efficiency of the exercise provided."
