Soldeu
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Soldeu is a city / parish in Andorra.
Soldeu comes alive in the winter months as a skiing town. The skiing is on the 193km Grandvalira ski area, the largest area in the Pyrenees. This can be accessed from Encamp, Canillo, El Tarter, Soldeu, Grau Roig and Pas de la Casa. The Soldeu Ski School has a large number of primary English speaking instructors and has won awards for the quality of it's tuition.
The village is at 1710 metres and the top of the ski area is at 2580 metres. Although there are a number of bars and restaurants providing a lively après-ski, the village is more family orientated than neighbouring Pas de la Casa. The native language is Catalan.
