Soldados de Salamina is the title a book and a movie based on the book.

Published by Javier Cercas in 2001. The title is an allusion to the famous Battle of Salamis in which the athenian fleat defeats the persians.

The nucleus of the book is Rafael Sánchez Mazas, writer and idealist of the Falange Española and close collaborator of José Antonio Primo de Rivera, and in particular the event of how he escaped his execution.

The author, Javier Cercas, becomes a character of the book, appearing as a journalist that investigates the event in order to write a book.

Soldados de Salamina was taken to the big screen by the director and screenwriter David Trueba in 2002, premiering in Spain March 21, 2003.
