Solar eclipse of 2001 June 21

The solar eclipse that took place on June 21, 2001 was a total eclipse of the Sun with a magnitude of 1.0495 that was visible from a narrow corridor in the southern Atlantic Ocean and southern Africa. A partial eclipse was seen from the much broader path of the Moon's penumbra, including eastern South America and most of Africa.
