Talk:Society of the Divine Word Missionaries

It seems to me that the Divine Word Missionaries article should be merged into this article. Comments? John Rigali 00:02, 15 February 2006 (UTC)

Also, from what I've gathered, the actual name of this missionary order is Society of the Divine Word (without "Missionaries" at the end). I think that the article should be renamed at some point to reflect this. John Rigali 00:22, 15 February 2006 (UTC)

I agree with two provisions:

1. That the emphasis be on the 'svd' aspect. This Catholic order of priests and brothers is properly called the Society of the Divine Word - hence their Latin initials.

2. The terms Steyler Fathers is of limited and restricted currency and should not be the major focus. Roger 03:34, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Holy Name University

Holy Name University (HNU), formerly the Divine Word College of Tagbilaran, is an institution of higher learning, run by the Society of the Divine Word or SVD, in Tagbilaran City, Bohol, Philippines. While it can be discussed under Society of the Divine Word or Divine Word Missionaries, education being one of its missions as a congregation, HNU needs a separate article. I would like to volunteer to work on it. How to redirect?Guest818 06:48, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
