The Socialist Party of New Jersey (SPNJ) is the state affiliate of the Socialist Party USA in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It was reorganized following the dissolution of the Socialist Party of America and the subsequent formation of the Socialist Party USA in 1973.
The Socialist Party of New Jersey engages in both electoral politics and non-electoral activism. Current electoral activities in 2006 include Greg Pason's campaign for United States Senate and Willie Norwood's campaign for United States House of Representatives in southern New Jersey's 2nd Congressional District. Non-electoral activism includes anti-racist actions in cooperation with Residents Against Racism, support for unions and unionization in cooperation with the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) and other unions, anti-war and anti-imperialist agitation, and support for feminism and women's rights.
The Socialist Party of New Jersey has two chartered locals, a Northern New Jersey local headquartered in Rochelle Park and a Southern New Jersey local in Newfield.
