Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan

Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan is a political party in Kyrgyzstan. The party was founded on October 1, 1993, but did not register with the Justice Ministry until December 16, 1994. The party's first Chairman was Abdygany Erkebave. He was replaced by Almaz Atambaev on July 30, 1999. The majority of the party's membership is drawn from the countries entrepreneurs.
On 20 May 2004 the Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan (PSD) agreed to join the For Fair Elections electoral alliance. In October 2004, the larger El Party merged with the PSD in preparation for the February 2005 parliamentary elections.
