Description

Image of a Soap Box Derby racer of a late 1960s design, complete with the official, Soap Box Derby issue wheels, painted red at the time: Later they were white.

This particular racer, The Red Baron, was hand built in 1966 by Bill Wrigley Sr. and Jr. and raced the following year at an official, Soap Box Derby sanctioned event in Montreal, Canada. It was raced for seven years in total by Bill Jr. and younger brother Derek, at various official races throughout Quebec and Ontario.
