So Many Roads (1965-1995) is a live boxed set spanning an expansive five compact discs. It is a retrospect of the Grateful Dead's performances from 1965 to 1995, which spans the entire lifetime of the band. Even though the collection is labeled a live album set, it also contains a number of tracks from the studio that were previously unreleased.

A single CD sampler was released to various media outlets and was called simply So Many Roads (1965-1995) Sampler. This sampler contained one track not found on the full five disc set.

The title of the set comes from the Jerry Garcia and Robert Hunter song "So Many Roads".

The "Watkins Glen Soundtrack Jam" is from the group's appearance at the 1973 Summer Jam at Watkins Glen.
