[edit] Image:Africa HIV-AIDS 300px.png

I'm red-green color blind (pretty common problem), and the colors for 10%, 15% and 20% looks almost the same to me. Could you please change the colors ? Thanks in advance.

Sorry for taking so long to respond. It is generally a better idea to contact people via their talk pages. I also find 10 & 15 to be somewhat hard to distinguish so I can immagine what it would be like for someone with colour-blindness problems. Maybe you could suggest some colours that you would find suitable? Would a scale of blue colours be better? - snoyes 06:28, 18 May 2004 (UTC)
It doesn't really matter what colors are used, as long as there are significant luminance difference between the colors. Don't rely only on chromaticity. 217.98.142.167 20:19, 21 May 2004 (UTC)
What do you think about the colours in this modified version (obviously only the legend colours are modified): image:Africa HIV-AIDS-colorscheme2 300px.png. Feel free to suggest better colours. (by uploading a modified version, or by giving the hex triplet of the colours you prefer) To be honest, I find it hard putting myself in your (and others) shoes, so the new suggested colours might not be better. - snoyes 10:40, 22 May 2004 (UTC)'

[edit] SEM ant image

Hi, I noticed that Image:SEM ant head 750px.jpg and its 300px version are gone. Were they removed, or is that a bug (no pun intended;-)? If it is a bug, should we/you re-upload it? Only the 750px version would be needed, thanks to thumbnails. --Magnus Manske 09:04, Jun 29, 2004 (UTC)

Shut the hell up now!!! lol (yo cheat web site)

[edit] Pixelquelle.de

Hi - long time no see. We have a problem with a lot of those pictures we uploaded from pixelquelle.de in january - not only are a lot still missing (the ones lost in the database crash haven't been restored) - but we got the licensing info wrong - they are not PD - they are under a weird license which I can't translate - not commercial but I think also no hate. Secretlondon 23:32, 3 Jul 2004 (UTC)

thanks - you may find Wikipedia:Pictures from pixelquelle.de useful - especially the discussion on the German page de:Wikipedia:Bilder von pixelquelle.de. Secretlondon 00:23, 4 Jul 2004 (UTC)I love you you love me we're a happy family!

[edit] Sound files

I thank you for the addition of the Kurt Schwitters sound example. I noticed that you specified what you had done to create the sound file. My question is are there any guidelines for such specifications on wikipedia that you know of? Thanks.

[edit] Maps

Hello, I was wondering hwere you got those region maps of various African countries, or do you make them yourself.

- sdrawkcab

Hi. I traced the outlines of various public domain (eg. CIA) maps and then coloured them in. I used the GIMP, but I guess any image editing program will do. - snoyes 19:49, 15 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Hmm, I just checked the CIA World Factbook, and I can't find the image for the Angola provinces there. Can you tell me more specifically where you found this? Also, would you be willing to release just this one image into the public domain? I'm making a prototype for Wikiteer and would like to use the image here. But my prototype is going to be released into the public domain. anthony (see warning) 15:05, 7 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Hi, I was wondering where you got the Zimbabwe Province map from. I have checked the CIA website, but they only had an outline map. Could you let me know as I must reference it for my coursework. If you drew it yourself, could you give me a date as well please. Thanks, S.Walker

[edit] HIV map

Hi, I found your map of AIDS in Africa useful so I uploaded it on commons, pasting your comment. I had a comment on may page asking for the source. Could you see the question and answer it ? Thanks in advance. Tipiac 22:25, 25 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Brecht.jpg

You uploaded this image under the template {{PD-Germany}}: unfortunately, the wording of the template was incorrect, and the image is not yet PD. The same image has been deleted from German Wikipedia for this reason. However, it may still be usable under fair use. Could you consider changing the copyright tag to {{fairuse}}. Thanks. [edit] Watersplash

I want to submit the following, but before I do so, I can't tell what stub category to apply to it. Any help would be welcome.

A watersplash is a point on a road where it runs below the water level of a stream or river but remains a useable section of that road. It is a common name for a ford or stretch of wet road and sometimes also used to describe tidal crossings.

Originally a crossing point for farm animals and foot travellers they have become a common feature in rallying courses. There are enthusiasts who like to seek out and drive through these water features just for fun.

There are many old fords in the United Kingdom, examples are at Brockenhurst (Hampshire) Wookey (Somerset) and Swinbrook in Oxfordshire. Some of these are being replaced by dry bridges as these are considered to be a more reliable form of crossing in adverse weather conditions.

Not just a British phenomenon, some very spectacular versions of the watersplash can be found in diverse locations. Australia has the Gulf Savannah, but other illustrations may be found in Canada, Italy, South Aftrica and Finland.

[edit] Thanks

Just a note to say thanks for deleting the ever-so-amusing vandalism put up on my user page. Methinks somebody has serious issues. I guess I should actually get around to putting up a real user page. ;) Luchaire 08:13, 2 November 2005 (UTC)

A while ago you expressed interest in Wikipedia:Footnotes. As that article was updated through a renaming process, you might not be aware of changes during recent months. I invite you to read the article again in case it is now more useful. (SEWilco 08:50, 15 December 2005 (UTC))

[edit] Thanks, and seeking input

(wow: i'm so tired i'm going to be pathetic and semi-copy something i just wrote to another person. sorry...) Hi! I noticed you in the scrap in Talk:Transhumanism with User_talk:213.84.249.188, so i thought you might be interested in what's happening re transtopianism. I'd love your input there, or advice to this newbie. Is there a wikiproject that deals with keeping crypto-racist/etc groups from advertising here? Thx so much, "alyosha" (talk) 09:13, 12 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Seward Collins

Hi. Forgive me if I screw this up,but . . . I saw that you were one of the folks who worked on the entry for Seward Collins. I'd love to touch base with whoever it was that did the piece. I'm the Michael Tucker referenced at the end of the article and it would be great fun to share notes with who ever it was that also had an interest in the strange Mr. Collins, or "poor Sewie" as his freinds called him. --Mjt57 13:10, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] African AIDS map

The table in the article says Ethiopia's prevalence is at 4.4% (near figures I've seen elsewhere), but the map has it at 5-10%. Can you please fix this? You seem to be inactive, though. So I will make a replacement unless you tell me otherwise.
