Snowy Shaw

Snowy Shaw, born Tommy Helgesson in 1969, is a Swedish Heavy Metal musician (primarily a drummer), based in the port city of Gothenburg in southern Sweden. He has played with many heavy metal bands, like King Diamond, Dream Evil, Mercyful Fate, Illwill, Notre Dame and Memento Mori. He is currently working solo, after a split from Dream Evil in January 2006.

Snowy is adept at playing guitar as well as drums and laterally featured as a primary songwriter in Dream Evil.

In October 2006 it was announced that he will be one of the singers in the Symphonic Metal band Therion, singing on the new album and participating at the tour in 2007 together with already established singer Mats Levén.

1989 - Snowy Shaw joined King Diamond, touring America and Europe.

1992 - Formed the band Memento Mori with Mike Wead and the Messiah Marcolin.

1993 - Joined Mercyful Fate, worked on solo project called Shamens and then Wakan Tanka.

1994 - Quit all previous band involvements to focus on Illwill.

1998 - Quit all previous band involvements to focus on his band Notre Dame, where he did not play the drums but played bass and sang. Another noted member of Notre Dame was Vampirella, a supposed former girlfriend of Shaw's.

2001 - Was asked by producer and guitarist Fredrik Nordström to join new power/melodic metal band Dream Evil. Refused, but agreed to do some session drumming for the band's first album Dragonslayer.

2002 - Decided to join Dream Evil as a full member, and toured Europe and Japan with the band. Worked with Them Sluts!, as well as keeping up with his own band Notre Dame.

2004 - Notre Dame was disbanded after one last show on Halloween

2006 - Quit Dream Evil to work solo. CREEPSHOW FREAKSHOW PEEPSHOW, a live recording of Notre Dame in Göteborg (Gothenburg) in 2000 is released by Shaw's own indie label, White Trash Records.
