"Snow ((Hey Oh))" is a song by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, originally released on the band's double album Stadium Arcadium on May 9, 2006. It is a softer, more melodic song, much like the songs from By The Way. The single was released on November 20, 2006.
Frusciante.net revealed that this was going to be the third of seven songs released as a single off of Stadium Arcadium. Before even being released as a single, it climbed to number fifty-three in the UK iTunes top 100 on May 13.
In an interview, Tony Kaye told MTV he will be directing the video for the third single from Stadium Arcadium, "Snow ((Hey Oh))". Kaye was also the director of the Red Hot Chili Peppers video Dani California. However, in the music video which as been confirmed as official, the Kaye footage wasn't used. Instead, it shows a live video of the band at the October 17/18 New Jersey show, along with black and white film of fans at the parking lot and lines who attended the live show.
Early October, Warner Germany said that the single would be released on 17 November. On 11 October, Frusciante.net revealed the promo cover and said that the video version of the song would be 4:41 instead of the album version, which is 5:34. This is not the case with the singles of the song, all CD Singles carry the album version of the track.

[edit] Video
Live footage for the "Snow ((Hey Oh))" video was shot during the band's concert at Continental Airlines Arena in New Jersey on both 17th October and 18th October, 2006. The audience was given pen lights on the way into the show, and Flea instructed everyone to light them up during the song so it could be filmed for the music video. Paper snow came down on the audience mid-song. [1] [1]
Another part of the video was previously shot by Tony Kaye. Pictures of this shoot can be seen here. Although this part was shot as being the actual music video, Warner Bros. Records decided on not using that video and opted for a live version instead. [2]
