Snake Attack!

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Snake Attack! is the title of the Masters of the Universe minicomic that makes a spotlight on the characters Rattlor and Tung Lashor (both of them had appeared before in the minicomic King of the Snake Men, but received little character development).

[edit] Characters

Heroic Warriors: Prince Adam/He-Man, Extendar, King Randor

Evil Warriors: Skeletor

Snake Men: King Hiss, Tung Lashor, Rattlor

[edit] Summary

This begins with all the Snake Men and Skeletor griping about He-Man. Tung Lashor and Rattlor claim they can finally get rid of him, and set out to do it. Extendar is visiting the royal palace because Prince Adam wants to introduce him to his parents, King Randor and Queen Marlena. Suddenly, the Snake Men burst into the palace and kidnap the king and queen to use as hostages. Extendar can't do anything against it because he doesn't want to risk their royal lives. Adam runs away and changes into He-Man, who manages to knock them out, but Tung Lashor manages a strike against him with his tongue. The poisonous venom spreads and hardens around He-Man until the hero is nothing more than a helpless statue anymore. Extendar tries furiously to crack the shell around He-Man. He succeeds just enough to free him while the Snake Men escape, and He-Man bursts free. He quickly grabs a pair of Stilt Stalkers and commences the chase after the Snake Men. The two manage to run into them and promptly get into a bit of a scrap. Tung Lashor ends up accidentaly coating Rattlor in his venom and He-Man knocks Tung Lashor into next Tuesday. He lands in the swamps, coincidentally next to king Hiss, who was resting. Hiss chases him in anger, while all the heroes come together to welcome Extendar to the team. Everything's fine again and Extendar has proven he's a real hero.

[edit] Notes

  • Continuity-wise, this minicomic happens shortly after The Warrior Machine, Extendar's origin story, since in this minicomic Extendar is introduced to the King and the Queen.
  • In the minicomic, Tung Lashor's tongue had a venom that hardened on the victim's skin, turning it into a statue. The "turning people into statues" idea was later carried on other member of the Snake Men named Snake Face.
  • Rattlor acts as a sort of sidekick to Tung Lashor, contrary to his portrayal in the 2002 TV series as King Hiss' direct Second-in-command. At some point, also, Tung Lashor thinks about becoming King Hiss' right hand snake
