Smendes II
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Nesbanebdjed II, or in Hellenized form, Smedes II, was a High Priest of Amun at Thebes in Ancient Egypt. He governed from about 992 to 990 BC.
Smedes was one of the sons of Menkheperre and Isetemjeb III. He married his sister Henuttauy II and had a daughter, Nesjons, who would be the wife of his brother Pinedjem II.
His pontificate was short and left few traces, missing, for instance from the annals of Egyptian historian Manetho.
He was succeeded by his brother Pinedjem II.
