Smederevska Palanka (Смедеревска Паланка) is a town and municipality located in Serbia at 44.37° North, 20.96° East. Its name means "A town of Smederevo" in Serbian language. In 2003 the municipality had a total population of 59,605.

[edit] Mineral water spring
Smederevska Palanka has a mineral water spring which was used by old Romans,but surely it is exploated since 1719. By Marco T.Leko this mineral water was at "Balkan Fair" in London April 22nd,1907. where it got the golden medail for quality. By some researches,this mineral water is the 3rd best in Europe mainly thanks to natural selenium it has.

There are three Serbian Orthodox churches in Smederevska Palanka. The oldest was built in 1827. It is a wooden church, one of the oldest wooden churches in Serbia, dedicted to St. Elijah. The Cathedral Church was built in 1902. St. Petka's was built most recently, in 1997.

Two Smederevska Palanka work two radio-televison stations "Jasenica" and "Dević". RTV "Jasenica" united with former TV "Goša", while radio station "Progres S" is not working any more.

In 2021. Smederevska Palanka will celebrated 1,000 years since it was mentioned for the first time in saved historical written document, which is today saved in Egyptian museum.
