[edit] Area

The article says the reservoir's area is 6,527 sq km, while the list of the world's ten largest in the Reservoir (water) article mentions 5,698 km². The Churchill Falls article also mentions 5,700 km². Actual area should be verified using reputable sources. Luigizanasi 15:39, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

I had used the figures published by IEEE Canada that to me seemed quite reputable, but I have noticed that those numbers has since been changed. HJKeats 16:40, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
ILEC has 6,475
Statistics Canada and Atlas of Canada both have 6,527. As does a Finnish bureau of statistics compilation.
Who knows which is right, but I would tend to go with the Atlas of Canada. If we do, then we should also change the Reservoir (water) article, which would make the Smallwood reservoir the second largest in the world. Luigizanasi 18:35, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
Agree, with that kind of overwhelming evidence then it would be the second largest in the world. It may require some verification still, as the IEEE website does say that the information is courtesy of the Churchill Falls (Labrador) Corporation CFLCo. HJKeats 22:06, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
