Middleware from TIBCO Software Inc., Palo Alto, CA (www.tibco.com) that runs on various platforms and provides a publish and subscribe capability for a distributed computing environment. IP multicast, ActiveX support and realtime monitoring of network applications are key features. SmartSockets was originally developed by Talarian Corporation, acquired in 2002 by TIBCO.
