SmarTruck II
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The SmarTruck II was engineered by the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command’s National Automotive Center (NAC) from a modified Chevrolet Silverado. The 6-wheeled (3-axle) truck can be fitted with a guided missile launcher (3 km range) and a launcher for a remote-controlled Unmanned Air Vehicle. The stated mission of the vehicle is anti-terrorism and it will probably be used by the United States Department of Homeland Security.
NAC executive director Dennis Wend says that he was inspired by a James Bond film in producing the SmarTrucks.
