Although once an electrical storm caused the state infirmary where Jeremy was being held caused them to lose power, he awoke and escaped. The combination of meteor rock exposure and the power surge supposedly charged Jeremy's body up and gave him the power to electrocute others by touch. Jeremy's escape allowed him to exact revenge on those three football players who tied him up in that field in 1989. After he "punished the three jocks, he realized that he must also punish the entire school. To do so, he tried to get the homecoming-goers wet with the sprinkler system and then electrocute them. Walt Arnold gained his Kryptonite power from the sauna which he received as a gift from the Smallville High Allumia association after his 20 years as the coach of the Crows. The rocks had Kryptonite in it. His power was to control and create fire only by thinking about it.

As Nixon began to dig into Clark's background, he came closer and closer to Clark's secret. They come across a cropduster who thoughts he saw something land during the meteor shower. This leads them to find the key to Clark's spaceship in a field the cropduster pointed them towards. Fixating on Clark, Nixon tests his theories by planting a bomb in Clark's truck. Nixon catches Clark surviving the blast on video. He takes the key from Lex, after overhearing Clark and his parents discussing its' purpose. Nixon sneaks onto the Kent farm and eventually finds the storm cellar with the ship. The key is ripped from his hands and molds with the ship, making it hover and glow. Harry Volk was supposed to attend the Metropolis Conservatory and study to be a concert pianist. However, after his teacher recommended someone else, Harry killed the teacher’s son by strangling him with a piano wire. Harry reasoned that since the teacher killed Harry’s dream of attending the conservatory, he would then kill his teacher’s dream or as he quoted Euripides, “The sins of the father are visited upon the children.” After serving his sentence and changing his last name to Bollston, he was allowed to stay at the retirement facility to live out the remainder of his life because he was deemed a harmless old man. Taking a stroll with Lana, Harry was trying to sneak a cigarette while Lana left him alone for a minute, but the lighter fell. Trying to pick it up, he fell into the koi pond embedded with kryptonite and was revitalized as his 17 year old self. With his newfound vigor, Harry continued his quest of revenge and sought to kill the descendants of the people that took his future away: the descendants of the jury that convicted him. He started with Jim Gage, son of Rudolph Gage, by gaining entrance to his house by posing as an electric repairman. Harry then moved on before Zoe Garfield, granddaughter of Eve Garfield. Clark saved Zoe from death and knocked Harry unconscious in the process. Harry then reverted back to an old man while in police custody. After being brought back to the retirement facility, he used the pond of fertility to de-age once again. While young, he went after juror number 11’s, Hiram Kent’s, son, Jonathan Kent. From then on, Hamilton became Lex's personal scientist, from resurrecting the Nicodemus flower to analyzing the Kryptonian key. His continued exposure to the meteor rocks unfortunately gave him symptoms similar to Earl Jenkins' jitters.
Once Lex cut his funding due to his new company LexCorp, Hamilton steals the spaceship from Pete's barn after Pete found in in a field. After realizing that the octagonal key goes into the ship, he talks to Lex to see if he has it, which he doesn't, because it fell out during the storm. He goes back to Pete's barn to search for the key where Pete confronts him. Realizing that Pete knows the owner of the ship, Hamilton kidnaps him and threatens to inject him with a kryptonite serum unless Pete reveals the truth. Clark naturally comes in to help, but is left weakened by the meteor rocks. A scuffle ensues and Hamilton goes into seizures after a few drops of the kryptonite solution drips on his head, killing him due to the pressure on his body.
His work on the meteor rocks was eventually found by his old colleague Donovan Jamison who wished to become a super-being with the powers exhibited by Tina Greer, Sean Kelvin, and Greg Arkin.
