Slush Puppie
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Slush Puppie is a non-alcoholic slush drink marketed by Cadbury-Schweppes in over 50 countries, and through its Dr Pepper/Seven Up division in the U.S. Slush Puppie was acquired by the Icee Company on 2006-05-30.
A Slush Puppie has two major components; the base and the flavoring. The base is made from a special syrup that is mixed with water and then frozen. This creates a mixture resulting in little bits of ice in a sweet liquid. The taste is simply that of the flavored syrup.
Flavors include: Grape, Cherry, Watermelon, Lemon-Lime, Strawberry, Strawberry-Kiwi, Strawberry-Banana, Blue Raspberry, Piña Colada, Cotton Candy, Bubble Gum, Shocker (a sour flavor), Tropical Bahama Mama, Cherry Cola, and Orange Frenzy.
Three new flavor have been recently added: Mixed Berry, Sour Apple, and Sour Lemon. Many other flavors are often made by mixing two or more different flavors. A "suicide" slush puppie is a mixture of every flavor, while a "ghost" slush puppie has no flavoring at all.
Most of these flavors are also available as flavored bases. Instead of requiring the "base" commonly referred to as neutral base (no flavor), these bases require only water to be frozen and made into a slushie.
Slush Puppies are usually available at filling stations, corner stores and cinemas.
