"The term is believed to have been introduced by CoffeeCup Software in 1996". Does anyone have a reliable verifiability source for this?

At the moment there is no real mention of the benefits of slipstreaming, for example, SP2 onto a Windows XP install disc. My understanding was that making your own XP SP2 installation disc through slipstreaming left you with a cleaner install of Windows than if you had installed from your original CD and then patched SP2 on top of this.
