The Sleipner-class corvette was a part of the Royal Norwegian Navys 1960 fleetplan. It was intended to build 5 ships of the class, but because of economically problemes only two wer built. These were F 310 KNM «Sleipner» and F 311 KNM «Æger». Sleipner was built by Nylands Mek. verksted, Oslo and Æger by Akers Mek. verksted, Oslo and handed over to the RNoN between 1965-1967. Both ships went through a modernization program in 1988, the shpis were then used as traningships. They were decommissioned in 1992.
