The article said Negative FX's name was inspired by NOFX. I'm almost positive that Negative FX predates NOFX by at least three or four years, but if someone knows otherwise, please say so. Justin Bailey 15:53, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

So is the article being deleted because someone who may have never heard of the band considers them not notable (NN?)?
Slapshot are considered legends in the Boston hardcore scene and have been influential in the hardcore scene in general. Just because you've never heard of them doesn't mean a thing. There are a ton of articles on this site for bands that have no where near the influence as this band.
That being said, the article was written pretty bad, I would agree that it needs to be re-written.--Skeev 13:54, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Notability guidelines
Under Wikipedia's guidelines for music, Slapshot covers the following.
Has gone on an international concert tour, or a national concert tour in at least one large or medium-sized country,[1] reported in notable and verifiable sources.[2]
According to thier websites and many other hardcore related sites that talk about the band, they've been on many Europeon tours with smaller bands and bands much bigger than them (Ministry, Motorhead). Also, thier album Live At SO36, released on We Bite Records was recorded at the SO36 club in Berlin during thier 1993 tour. It'd be hard to do that and not gone on at least one tour. Also, there is an LP simply called Tour '91 which was a limited release recorded in Wertheim, Germany on thier 1991 tour.
Has released two or more albums on a major label or one of the more important indie labels (i.e. an independent label with a history of more than a few years and a roster of performers, many of which are notable).
Has releases on Century Media Records, Taang! Records and Bridge 9 Records, all labels with a long history.
Has been featured in multiple non-trivial published works in reliable and reputable media (excludes things like school newspapers (although university newspapers are usually fine), personal blogs, etc.)
They were written about in the book All Ages: Reflections on Straight Edge which can be purchased in a large number of places including Amazon. I know that's not "multiple" but since I have other points to stand on I thought I'd mention it.
Has become the most prominent representative of a notable style or the local scene of a city (or both, as in British hip hop); note that the subject must still meet all ordinary Wikipedia standards, including verifiability.
The fact that the hardcore/punk scene in Boston collaborated in a tribute to the band should represent that they are a representative of that scene and are notable there.
Using these criteria set forth by Wikipedia, I feel that that the "not notable" reason for deletion is unwarranted. A clean-up messgage, perhaps, as it is not the most well written or structured article. It is by far not the worst either.--Skeev 20:46, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
