Slayer of Innocence is a 2003 biography by Jim Conover.
Slayer of Innocence is narrated by a police officer who investigates a suspected predatory paedophile serial killer of young boys. The book details in first person narrative the true events of a lengthy investigation and nine day, twenty-four hour surveillance in Springfield, Illinois. Over a period of seven years, from 1972 until 1979, fourteen young boys, aged from seven to fourteen, were abused and murdered in much the same manner and in similar locations.
