Slaughter Lord were a thrash metal band from Sydney, Australia. The band were active throughout the mid to late 1980s, playing frequently with neighbourhood thrashers Mortal Sin. The bands Slaughter Lord, Mortal Sin, Addictive and Massive Appendage were the leaders of the 1980s Sydney thrash metal movement.
Despite never having released a proper album, Slaughter Lord were, and still remain an Australian metal legend. The band split circa 1988 when guitarist Mick Burke was recruited by Mortal Sin. Drummer and founding member Steve Hughes also later joined Mortal Sin, and performed with them on their tour behind the "Face of Despair" album, and later joined black metallers Nazxul.
In 1998, Hughes released the "Thrash 'til Death" CD, a compilation of demo tracks and other recorded releases from Slaughter Lord.
