The second album featured the same trio, joined by Scott Mercado, Alfred Butler, Stephen Brian-Salit, Mark Ultra, Kevin McCoy and Jeff Guess. The band at this point reinvented itself as a septet, featuring Roderick Wolgamott and Anisa Romero, DJ Fallout aka Todd Robbins , Joseph E. Howard (aka Joe Skyward), Bennett James, Marc Olsen and Gordon Raphael. Mike Cozzi replaced Marc Olsen on the fifth through seventh albums.
The music of SCM was a sharp contrast to the Seattle grunge scene going on at the time.

Sky Cries Mary were the first ever band to have an 'internet only' concert. The visuals and audio were not very good, but internet was still very primitive at the time.
