SKY Latin America is two closely related pay-TV providers, one based in Mexico, the other in Brazil.

The Mexican company was founded in mid-1996, a joint venture between British Sky Broadcasting (BSkyB), News Corporation, Liberty Media and Grupo Televisa. It was launched on December 15, 1996.

At the same time, it was being set up in Brazil, there it involved BSkyB, News Corporation, Liberty Media and Organizações Globo. By May 2000, it launched in Argentina and Colombia.

It's still growing and is now available in the southern U.S., where the Hispanic population is at its highest.
