Skull (Lolo)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Skulls are enemies featured in Eggerland series.

A Skull looks just like its name implies: a skull. They remain motionless until all Heart Framers are taken, then all Skulls in the room begin to chase after Lolo. A Skull's touch is fatal. In some puzzles, it's commonly needed to confine a Skull's movement by blocking it before taking all Heart Framers.

[edit] Skull facts

  • Skulls were always an enemy since the very first MSX computer game Eggerland Mystery.
  • The Skull's AI, like most mobile monsters, was a little poorer in the old days but improved in the Nintendo game Eggerland.
  • Though they do start in a pre-defined direction, Skulls always appear to be facing down until all the hearts are taken.
  • In the Microsoft Windows version of the game, Skulls actually have extra sprites for their starting positions, so you can tell which direction they will initially move in once the hearts are taken.
  • In some games, if a Skull is going to reappear after being shot off the screen and Lolo is on the spot where it will reappear, the touch is fatal even if all the hearts are not taken.
  • Skulls' eyes glow when they are moving!
  • Skulls appear as enemies in the Extra Game in Kirby's Dream Land, as replacements for the Mumbies enemies. They are renamed Skullers in the process.
