In 1843 Skoger was enlarged when Strømsgodset with its 731 inhabitants as well as an uninhabited part of Eger were incorporated into the municipality . The enlarged Skoger municipality had a population of 2,568 and was moved to the county of Larvik og Jarlsberg.

On 1 January 1870 a district of Skoger with its 1 363 inhabitants was moved to Drammen.

On 1 January 1964 the rest of Skoger, at that time with 14 672 inhabitants, was incorporated into Drammen. This entailed a border adjustment as Skoger once again became a part of Buskerud county.
