The Sienar Fleet Systems GAT-12h Skipray Blastboat is a fictional starship in the Star Wars Universe. While small enough to be carried aboard capital ships as a starfighter, according to some registries the Skipray Blastboat is designated as a capital starship. Generally, the ship is considered a heavy gunboat or gunship.

[edit] Origin and lineage
Originally, Sienar Fleet Systems designed the ship primarily for the use of the Galactic Empire. The ship began to sell on the open market after being all but snubbed by the Imperial Navy. It was later discovered that the vehicle's cost played a factor in the reduced purchase quantity. Those Imperial fleets that received Skiprays praised the ship, however the Skipray Blastboat gained fame and reputation as a staple of corporate, security, pirate and smuggler fleets.
The most popular variant, the GAT-12h, was released prior to the Battle of Yavin. Although additional revisions have been released since that time (the 12j model being the most recent), the 12h has proven to be a reliable ship. This explains its continued use in outer-rim planetary patrol fleets, as well as smuggler reliance on the durable craft.

[edit] Additional information
- The ship is one of the few starfighter-sized vessels in the Imperial arsenal capable of hyperspace travel.
- While designed as a space-faring vessel, the ship actually performs better in atmospheric flight, with a (reported) top speed of 1,200 km/h.
- Fully supplied, a full-crewed Skipray Blastboat can operate for up to a month without resupply.
- The aft-mounted dorsal fin rotates 90 degrees to lay flat for landing. It is also rotated flat for atmospheric flight.
