Skipped bail
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Skipped Bail results from the act of a person, after having been bailed out by a bail bonds person or company, not showing up to court on the date and time that the court sets for that person to appear. The bail is then forfeited and the bail bonds person becomes liable for a certain amount of money that was a guarantee that the person being bailed out would appear in court. The bail bonds person would then go after the person that did not appear, and either try to bring them into court, or use whatever means it has at its disposal to recover any loss from the person that did not appear.
