[edit] About Skingrad

Skingrad is one of the more mysterious of Cyrodiil's cities. Its architecture is very distinctive and its people are very secretive. It is divided into two sections (north and south) by a trench that runs through the middle of it. On the northern side, one can find the lavish Rosethorn Hall which one can purchase for the hefty sum of twenty-five thousand septims, the local Fighters' Guild and Mages' Guild guildhalls, a statue of King Rislav Larich the Righteous atop his horse, and several residential homes. In the southern part lies the Great Chapel of Julianos and more homes.

Castle Skingrad is located on a large hill to the southeast of the city. It is there that Count Janus Hassildor lives.

[edit] Janus Hassildor

Count Janus Hassildor is probably the strangest of all Cyrodiil's nobles. He does not hold public audience hours, and only appears to people who require his immediate attention. And as the protagonist will most likely discover one way or another, Count Hassildor is a Vampire. His wife, Rona Hassildor, is also dying of a similar disease. The Count gave up his Vampiric desires long ago to serve his people.

[edit] Notes

Skingrad's prison is unusual in that it houses a secret passage, greatly aiding in escape. If one can defeat the lock on the cell door and get to the end of the hall, one of the lamps found there is, in fact, a switch. When pulled, this causes the wall to open like a door. This passage comes into play in a Thieves' Guild quest, in which one must break a fellow thief out of the prison in exchange for information regarding an object the player has been ordered to steal.
