Skilled Park is a new stadium under construction at Robina, a suburb of the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. Construction of the venue started in 2006, and it is expected to be open in time for the 2008 NRL season, when it will become the new home of the Gold Coast Titans.
[edit] The New Stadium
Gold Coast Stadium is to be built in the satellite growth suburb of Robina, near Robina railway station. The stadium will effectively be a smaller version of Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, and has been designed by the same company. Gold Coast Stadium will be opened in 2008 in time for the 2008 Rugby League World Cup, to be held in Australia. The project has been funded by the Queensland Government. On September 27, 2006, it was announced that the new ground will be called Skilled Park.
