- Mt Buffalo - run by national parks. A good beginners area and cross country area. The Mt Buffalo Chalet regularly runs weekend-long ski classes for beginners, specialising in families and older people.
- Mt Baw Baw - in Gippsland.
Cross country only resorts are:
- Lake Mountain
- Mount Saint Gwinear
- Mount Stirling
- Mount Donna Buang (mostly tourist snow).
