Skeeter Webb

James Laverne "Skeeter" Webb (b. November 4, 1909, Meridian, Mississippi - d. July 8, 1986, Meridian, Mississippi) was a Major League Baseball player.
Webb began his Major League baseball career on July 20, 1932, with the St. Louis Cardinals at the age of 23. He played for 12 seasons on 5 different teams and ended his big-league playing career in 1948.
Webb played shortstop for 1945 World Series champion Detroit Tigers and caught the final out of the seventh game.
