Skechers (Skechers USA, Inc.) is an American shoe company headquartered in Manhattan Beach, California, founded by ex-hairdresser and LA Gear shoe company founder Robert Greenberg. After being ousted from the LA Gear board, Greenberg started Skechers in 1992 with his son, as a distributor for Doc Marten. They launched their own shoe lines in 1995. [1] Their most famous products are Doc Marten-style sandals and sports shoes designed for use with skateboards, but the company has since moved into mainstream casual footwear targeting the teenage market, especially females. One of the most popular Skechers styles is the Energy series, available in men's and women's colors and sizes.
