Skanderborg Festival

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Skanderborg festival is an annual music festival held the second weekend of August, in a beech forest in the vicinity of Skanderborg. The festival is known as "Denmark’s Most Beautiful Festival" because of its scenic location.

It covers many styles of music, such as rock, pop, folk, heavy metal, hip-hop and electronic.

The first festival was held in 1980 and was a one-day festival with 7 bands and a good 600 spectators.

In 2004, Skanderborg Festival was held for the 25th time and is now the second largest festival in Denmark. The festival gathered more than 45,000 people for the concerts, including 8,500 workers, most of them volunteers.
