- No.2 in E flat minor
- No.3 in B minor
- No.4 in E minor
- No.5 in D flat major
- No.6 in C major
The Moments Musicaux are sad (No.1), agitated (No.2), lyrical but tormented (Nos. 3 and 5) or based on obsessive rhythms (Nos. 4 and 6).
Perhaps the most famous ones are Nos. 2 (with its agitated notes giving richer sound to the surrounding detached octaves), 3 (It has a unique singing line, very distinctive staccato bass line in the middle section, and a beautiful point of climax), and 5, which appears in many classical music collections, both sheet music books and recordings.
The very distinctive influence by Chopin can be noted on the No. 5, this piece carries the characteristics of Chopin's Nocturnes.
