Sittensen is a village and a municipality in the district of Rotenburg, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated approx. 20 km northeast of Rotenburg, and 45 km southwest of Hamburg.

Sittensen is also the seat of the Samtgemeinde ("collective municipality") Sittensen, which consists of the following municipalities:

  • Groß Meckelsen
  • Hamersen
  • Kalbe
  • Klein Meckelsen
  • Lengenbostel
  • Sittensen
  • Tiste
  • Vierden
  • Wohnste
