Mike also known as "sirmikester" in various online circles (including Wikipedia) was born in Chicago in 1981. Besides moving to the suburbs, he has never lived anywhere else. His main interests include technology, linux, and Suzanne (his fiance).

[edit] Schooling
Mike attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and graduated with a Bachelor in Science in General Engineering in 2004. His area of interest was computer science, and he even took enough courses to get a minor.
Before college, Mike attended James B. Conant High school in Hoffman Estates, IL. He managed to do pretty well there, well enough to get into the college he always wanted to go to.
Mike is thinking about getting his MBA from a local university, he just hasn't decided which one... or taken his GMAT yet.

Mike hasn't done much yet in his life, other than meet the woman of his dreams and get a job after college. He plans on doing great things, but he doesn't know what they are going to be yet. He spends time with friends and family on weekends and tries to be involved in activities like the NWCLUG. Alot of Mike's time is spent playing around with his computer and learning the details of Debian, a Linux distribution.
Mike likes to travel and has been to a few places, among his favorites are: Hawaii, Germany, England and Poland. Mike wishes he could visit: Australia, China and Japan.
His newest prized posession is a slightly used IBM Thinkpad T30 that he purchased off of craigslist. He has stated on several occasions that "Thinkpads rule"

Mike is planning on continuing to evolve his professional skills and trying to contribute something to the world.
